Citizens Helping In Parking Solutions

C.H.I.P.S. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

C.H.I.P.S. volunteers are trained to identify handicap parking violations, educate the public about handicap parking and issue citations to violators within the City of Dallas.

The purpose of the C.H.I.P.S. program is to increase awareness of the challenges facing the disabled and to ensure handicap parking spaces are available when needed.

While C.H.I.P.S. members are volunteering, they are required to wear a distinct uniform shirt with “Dallas Police Volunteer” and “C.H.I.P.S.” patches.

They are authorized to patrol any day of the week from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and are required to notify dispatch that they will be in the field.

Members use their own vehicles with “Dallas Police Volunteer” signs on the sides.
